No-gi Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai & kids martial arts — just 4 miles from the Baldwin Park Metrolink station
If you live in Baldwin Park — whether you're near Ramona Blvd, over by Morgan Park and the community pool, or closer to the La Puente border on Francisquito — you're about 10 minutes from one of the best martial arts academies in the San Gabriel Valley. 10th Planet Covina is located at 1050 N Citrus Ave in Covina, just north of the I-10. From most of Baldwin Park, you're looking at a straight shot east on the freeway or a short surface street run through Irwindale. No traffic nightmares, no long commute.
Our 4,000 sq ft facility has two dedicated training rooms — one for grappling, one for striking — with classes running from early morning through 10 PM at night, six days a week. We train the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system (100% no-gi, founded by Eddie Bravo) alongside Fuzion Muay Thai, plus age-grouped kids programs starting at age 3. We already have members driving over from Baldwin Park, and several kids from Baldwin Park High School and Sierra Vista come to evening sessions after school.
Your first class is completely free. There's no contract to sign before you train, no hard sell at the door. Show up in athletic clothes, get on the mats, and decide for yourself.
Take Puente Ave south to Arrow Hwy and head east to Citrus Ave, or jump on the I-10 west for one exit. Most Baldwin Park addresses reach our doors in 8–10 minutes depending on traffic.
Morning BJJ at 8 AM before the commute, kids classes at 4 PM right after school, and evening Muay Thai running until 10 PM. Six days a week with open mat Saturday — something fits every schedule.
Age-grouped kids classes in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai give Baldwin Park youth structured martial arts training in a safe, encouraging environment. Groups run 3–5, 6–9, and 10–15 so kids train with peers their own size.
Master the art of no-gi submission grappling with the revolutionary 10th Planet system. Classes for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Learn MoreBaldwin Park is a tight-knit community, and we see that culture carry over into the gym. We have members who grew up near Barnes Park watching concerts at the amphitheater, families from North Baldwin Park and the neighborhoods around the Santa Fe Dam, and working adults who commute through the Baldwin Park Metrolink station and swing by for an evening class before heading home.
For parents searching for something more structured than weekend rec leagues, our kids program offers a real alternative. Students from Baldwin Park High School, Sierra Vista High, North Park High, and Olive Middle School come to after-school sessions, and younger kids from Baldwin Park Elementary get started in our 3–5 age group. Instead of parking them in front of a screen, you get them training — building discipline, self-defense skills, and friendships that stick.
Whether you want to compete, get in shape, or just find a gym where people actually push each other to improve, you'll fit in here. The mats don't care where you came from or what your background is.
Kids classes start at 4 PM Monday through Friday, timed perfectly for students from Baldwin Park High, Sierra Vista, North Park, and Olive Middle School.
Train at 8 AM before the commute or at 8:30 PM after the kids are in bed. We build our schedule around people who actually have lives outside the gym.
Parents train Muay Thai or BJJ while their kids take class in the next room. Several Baldwin Park families train together here on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Fill out a quick waiver and meet the coach. We'll walk you through the space and answer any questions before class starts.
No-gi means no uniform needed. Athletic shorts or leggings and a t-shirt or rash guard work great. No zippers or pockets on the mats.
Beginners are paired with experienced training partners who guide you through techniques. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end on their first day.
We'll answer questions about membership if you're curious, but there's zero sales pressure. Take as many free classes as you need to make your decision.

About 4 miles — typically 8 to 10 minutes by car depending on where you're starting from. From central Baldwin Park, the fastest routes are south on Puente Ave to Badillo St then west to Citrus Ave, or a short hop west on the I-10 to the Citrus Ave exit. Both land you at 1050 N Citrus Ave without any major traffic trouble.
None at all. The majority of our members walked in for the first time with zero background. Beginner classes are structured to teach fundamentals from the ground up, and you'll be paired with experienced training partners who will work with you at your pace — not throw you in the deep end. We run beginner-friendly sessions in both morning and evening time slots.
Yes. Kids and teen classes run Monday through Friday starting at 4 PM, which lines up well with the end of the school day at Baldwin Park High, Sierra Vista, North Park, and the middle schools. Saturday morning has wrestling as well. The 10–15 age group trains alongside competitive-minded teens, so high schoolers fit right in without being bored by a class that's too basic.
Yes, free parking is available directly in front of the building at 1050 N Citrus Ave. No meters, no parking structures — just pull in and walk a few steps to the door.
10th Planet is 100% no-gi — you train in athletic clothes, no traditional kimono required. The system was founded by Eddie Bravo and built around a distinct set of positions and submissions optimized for no-gi grappling. It's widely used in MMA and self-defense contexts, and it's genuinely different from what most area gyms teach. Beyond the system itself, we also run Fuzion Muay Thai for striking, so you can develop a complete skill set under one roof.
