No-gi Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai & kids martial arts — just 7 miles from Bonelli Park and the heart of San Dimas
If you're in San Dimas — whether you're off Bonita Ave near the old Western-style downtown, out in the Via Verde area, or closer to the San Dimas Canyon Nature Center — you're about 12 minutes from one of the best martial arts academies in the San Gabriel Valley. 10th Planet Covina sits on Citrus Ave in downtown Covina, and the drive over is straightforward: head west on Arrow Hwy and you'll roll right to us without touching a freeway. No complicated detours, no congestion crossing into the city.
Our 4,000 sq ft facility runs two dedicated training rooms — one for grappling, one for striking — with classes morning through evening, six days a week. We train the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system (no-gi only, founded by Eddie Bravo) and Fuzion Muay Thai, with separate kids programs starting at age 3. San Dimas families are a natural fit here. It's a town that takes outdoor fitness seriously — the hiking trails in San Dimas Canyon, the equestrian paths, the mountain biking around Puddingstone — and the people who come through our doors have that same mindset of physical challenge and discipline.
Your first class is free. No contracts to sign up front, no sales pitch on the mats. Just show up, train, and see if it's the right fit for you and your family.
From downtown San Dimas, take Arrow Hwy west to Citrus Ave and head north — you're there. No freeway required. From Via Verde, hop on the I-210 west to Grand Ave and you can be on the mats in under 15 minutes.
Morning BJJ at 8 AM before your commute, kids classes at 4 PM after school lets out at San Dimas High or Lone Hill Middle, evening Muay Thai until 10 PM. Six days a week with Saturday wrestling and open mat.
Age-grouped kids classes in Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing, and Saturday wrestling for ages 3–5, 6–9, and 10–15. San Dimas kids come in after school and many stick with it for years, competing and earning stripes along the way.
Master the art of no-gi submission grappling with the revolutionary 10th Planet system. Classes for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Learn MoreSan Dimas has always had a different character from the other SGV cities — the Western-themed storefronts along Bonita Ave, the equestrian trails that wind through Horse Thief Canyon, the families who spend weekends boating and hiking out at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park. It's a community that values being physically active and living outdoors. Those same values carry right into how we train on the mats.
We see students from San Dimas High School (home of the Saints) and Lone Hill Middle School come in after school. Parents from the Via Verde neighborhood and out near San Dimas Canyon bring younger kids in for the 4 PM classes. And plenty of adults come in after a weekend hike at San Dimas Canyon Nature Center or a day at Raging Waters looking for something more challenging to add to their fitness routine.
Whether you want to compete, get in shape, or give your kid a structured activity with real discipline and community, you'll find your people at 10th Planet Covina.
Kids classes start at 4 PM, perfect timing for students from San Dimas High, Lone Hill Middle, and Gladstone Elementary.
Train at 8 AM before work or 8:30 PM after the kids are down for the night. We fit your schedule, not the other way around.
Parents train Muay Thai while their kids take Jiu Jitsu in the next room. Several San Dimas families train together here every week.
Fill out a quick waiver and meet the coach. We'll walk you through the space and answer any questions before class begins.
No-gi means no uniform needed. Athletic shorts or leggings and a t-shirt or rash guard work great. No zippers or pockets on the mats.
Beginners are paired with experienced training partners who guide you through techniques. No one gets thrown into the deep end on day one.
We'll answer questions about membership if you're interested, but there's zero sales pressure. Try as many free classes as you need.

About 7 miles — roughly 12 minutes by car without freeway traffic. From downtown San Dimas near Bonita Ave and the Arrow Hwy, it's a straight shot west on Arrow Hwy to Citrus Ave, then a short jog north to the gym. From Via Verde or the northern part of San Dimas, the I-210 west to Grand Ave is just as quick.
Not at all. Most of our members started as complete beginners. Our beginner classes teach fundamentals from the ground up, and you'll be paired with experienced training partners who meet you at your pace. We run both morning and evening beginner-friendly sessions so you can pick the time that works best for your schedule.
We run three age groups: 3–5, 6–9, and 10–15. Kids Jiu Jitsu and kids kickboxing run Monday through Friday starting at 4 PM, and Saturday mornings feature wrestling. A lot of parents from San Dimas drop their kids off after school and either watch class or jump into an adult session happening in the other room at the same time.
Yes. There's free parking directly in front of the building at 1050 N Citrus Ave. No meters, no time limits, and you won't have to park far and walk.
10th Planet is 100% no-gi — no traditional kimono (gi). The system was developed by Eddie Bravo and centers on a distinct set of positions and submissions built specifically for no-gi grappling and MMA. It's a great choice for self-defense and competition, and because there's no gi to buy, you can start with athletic shorts and a t-shirt on day one.
